Governor signs law stripping Hawaii Tourism Authority board’s power.
The Hawaii Tourism Authority board has been stripped of power over tourism policy and management.
Gov. Josh Green signed Senate Bill 1571 into law Thursday, but exactly how the new structure will operate is unclear.
The governor had promised to sign the bill after it passed, being pretty blunt about how he felt about HTA’s performance.

Kitten rescued from electric vehicle at Kahala Market
A kitten was rescued from an electric Ford Mustang at Kahala Market on Saturday night after it was stuck inside the car.
Meows were heard from inside the car, so firefighters came to rescue the trapped kitten. Firefighters worked to find and remove it from the electric vehicle.
